Bright Light Academy is seeking an experienced assistant teacher to join our teaching team. The ideal candidates will have at least two years experience working with young children, preferably between the ages of one & five years old, be a team player & have a passion for early learning. Candidates MUST qualify as an Assistant Group Supervisor with DHS to be considered. CDA certification is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other teachers to plan & implement daily lesson plans & activities.
- Help create a safe & stimulating classroom environment for the children in your care.
- Monitor & engage with children during playtime, meals & other daily routines.
- Provide individual & group support to children as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development & progress.
- Complete child assessments & participate in parent/teacher conferences.
Qualifications:
- Two+ years experience working with young children, preferably ages 1-5.
- Must qualify as an Assistant Group Supervisor or Group Supervisor with DHS.
- Pass state, federal & child abuse background checks.
- Be 18 years or older & able to work in the United States.
- Be able to pass a drug test.
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Be able to lift up to 40lbs, see, hear & sit on the floor with children.
- Must be patient, nurturing & able to create a positive learning environment.
- A CDA or higher in Early Childhood Education, Children & Families or Child Development are preferred.
Position Overview:
- This is a full-time, year round position.
- Pay range starts at $32,500 up to $35,500 annually (relative to experience & education - higher for degreed teacher) with a pay increase based on performance & education at the end of a 90 day probation period.

- Full-time staff work a four-day work week!
